Curiosities about the Atlanta Aquarium

We can experience from the Amazon to the Arctic, we can find in the Atlanta Aquarium coral reefs and breakers, or even those fishes and crustaceans that use to live at great depths where light does not reach, but here at the Atlanta aquarium we can observe how those species live.

Visiting the Atlanta Aquarium is like being under the ocean, it is amazing. We can see from a whale shark and two belugas to a Bellena with thousands of fishes around living like in the ocean, I think it's worth visiting and you will not regret.

It is the first time that whale sharks live in an aquarium outside of Asia. It is the largest species that lives under water and, despite of their intimidating size, they are not dangerous to humans.

Since the opening , the Atlanta Aquarium has presenced the birth and pregancy of the following species:

  • Zebra sharks
  • Bonnethead sharks
  • Wobbegong sharks
  • Cownose rays
  • Blacktip reef sharks
  • Pipefish
  • Kelp fish
  • Ratfish

The Atlanta Zoo or the history, art and science museums are in the proximities also, as well as the CNN. If we are planning to visit two or more of them, we will find useful the combo ticket from the Atlanta Museum which is in partnership with the main attractions of the city.
